This will be the second time the four Dulles Hotels (Aloft Dulles Airport, Hilton Garden Inn Dulles North, Homewood Suites Dulles North and Embassy Suites Dulles North) managed by PM Hospitality Strategies, Inc. get together to pull a 150,000 lb cargo plane. Last year the weather did not cooperate at all causing the event to be cancelled, but this year we are hoping for awesome weather!All teams are made up of 20 members, who all line up next to an enormous rope attached to the airplane. The starter signals when to start and starts the stopwatch. After the team pulls the aircraft 12 feet, the stopwatch stops and the elapsed time is recorded as the team score.

There are more events at the Dulles Day festival than just the Plane Pull! The entire festival has evolved around the competition, and features a range of events and activities for the entire family. Come check out the car show, aircraft displays, exhibitor areas, games, & rides in the Kids Corner, live music, concessions and more! There’s even a School Bus Pull for the kids… so gather your friends and family and make a day of it!
