As the new Director of Sales at the Aloft Dulles North, I arrived to a very warm welcome by my new team. I am excited to lead our sales efforts in marketing a very "hip", trendy brand of the W Hotels which exudes "urban cool in unexpected places". I believe that the affluent community of Dulles will soon discover the uniqueness of the Aloft and its bold, sleek style with cutting-edge technology. I have no doubt we will build much excitement on the Dulles corridor. I bring with me an extensive background in sales and marketing. After working at the Hay-Adams Hotel and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington D.C. and Tysons Corner, I worked in new homes sales for many years. As a top performer in the homebuilding industry, I enjoyed much success here in Loudoun County. My vision is to bring brand recognition of the Aloft and establish new relationships with key corporate accounts. I am energized by the enthusiam of our vibrant team who is committed to spreading the "happening vibe" of Aloft! Redskins Training Camp is in FULL EFFECT!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, it's that time of the season when our fellow Redskins begin their training journey to take us to the SuperBowl. The Washington Redskins 2009 Training Camp will feature 8 practices open to the public, capped by Fan Appreciation Day, which will feature an intra-squad scrimmage. The practices are open to the public free of charge. Parking lots will open approximately 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start of practice and gates will open approximately one hour prior to the start of each practice. We are less than a mile away from the Redskins training camp and have an AWESOME Redskins training camp Package Rate, so go online to http://www.aloftdulles.com/ under offers tab and book your stay under the Redskins package rate. We provide transportation to the camp (upon request), so all you have to do is enjoy the view.

Home Grown Mojitos!

At the Aloft Dulles Airport Hotel we are locally know for the best Classic Mojitos in town!

In an effort to reduce expenses we have decided to grow our very own mint leaves. When ordering a 0.75 oz package of mint leaves from our food vendor we are spending about $2.00 per package, and usually after a week, the last bit of mint leaves don't look as fresh as they ought to.

From our local nursery we purchased three mint leaf plants which only costs $2.99 each, and each plant can expect to grow as long as 14-16 inches high. This will provide our hotel with an abundant supply of mint leaves and our W xyz patrons the freshest and tastiest Mojitos around.

Special Olympics and PMHS Dulles Hotels "Plane Pull"

This will be the second time the four Dulles Hotels (Aloft Dulles Airport, Hilton Garden Inn Dulles North, Homewood Suites Dulles North and Embassy Suites Dulles North) managed by PM Hospitality Strategies, Inc. get together to pull a 150,000 lb cargo plane. Last year the weather did not cooperate at all causing the event to be cancelled, but this year we are hoping for awesome weather!

All teams are made up of 20 members, who all line up next to an enormous rope attached to the airplane. The starter signals when to start and starts the stopwatch. After the team pulls the aircraft 12 feet, the stopwatch stops and the elapsed time is recorded as the team score.

There are more events at the Dulles Day festival than just the Plane Pull! The entire festival has evolved around the competition, and features a range of events and activities for the entire family. Come check out the car show, aircraft displays, exhibitor areas, games, & rides in the Kids Corner, live music, concessions and more! There’s even a School Bus Pull for the kids… so gather your friends and family and make a day of it!

FREE Cooking Class by Cookology

I can officially announce the collaboration between Cookology and Aloft Dulles Airport North is set for July 9th, 2009. Cookology will have a Chef demo how to cook fantastic appetizers and YOU can sample the food as well. Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy comfort foods.
